We have been contacted by CBC and will have 4 more of our Canskaters featured on the CBC Young Athlete of the Day segment
Charlotte Jane will be featured on Monday January 25th
Jachob Doucette will be featured on Wednesday Jan 27th
Cohen d'Entremont will be featured on Thursday Jan 28th
Jesse Abutu will be featured on Friday Jan 29th

Sharlie Pinksen passed her Harris Tango on Dec 22nd to complete her Junior Silver Dances
Shayleigh Doucet passed her Senior Bronze Solo on Dec 22nd to complete her Senior Bronze Freeskate
Kylie Landry passed her Argentine Tango, Westminster Waltz and Viennese Waltz on Dec 22nd to complete her Gold Dances

We have been contacted by Greg Guy of CBC Nova Scotia and we will have 4 of our Skaters featured on the CBC Young Athlete of the Day on the week of Jan 18th to 22nd
Salma Eissa will be featured on Jan 18th
Emily Cunningham will be featured on Jan 20th
Rylan Chetwynd will be featured on Jan 21st
Olivia Geis will be featured on Jan 22nd

SHAYLEIGH AND ALLISON ARE PA AND SPIRIT SKATER OF THE MONTH

Shayleigh Doucet is the PA (Program Assistant) of the Month! Shayleigh has been volunteering with the Canskate program for several years. She is always offering to help with the set up for the Canskate sessions. She draws excellent circuits! She does an excellent job at explaining the skills to the Canskaters and is very attentive to them on the ice. Thank you Shayleigh and Congratulations!!
Allison Theriault is the YSC Spirit Skater of the Month. Allison is 10 years old and has been in the STARSkate program for a few years now. She has learning several new jumps and also perfecting her combination spin! She competes in the STAR 3 program and received a silver for her skate in the 2015 Fall Skate held at St Margaret's Bay! She also volunteers as a PA with the Canskate Program and is very helpful in the warm up and putting the Canskate supplies away after the sessions. Thank you and Congratulations Allison!!
ADDIE AND JESSE ARE CANSKATERS OF THE MONTH

Addie Sears is 9 years old and she has been in the Canskate program for a few years. She has recently passed her Stage 4 badge! When she is at Canskate she loves to work on her spirals. When she isn't skating she loves to go swimming and play with her little brother, Beck. In school her favorite subject is Art. Congratulations Addie!!
Jesse Abutu is 11 years old and just started Canskate this Fall. He has passed all his Stage 1 and 2 ribbons and badges! He is a hard worker on the ice and is very polite and kind to the Coaches and other Skaters! Congratulations Jesse!!

Zara Hemani will be featured on CBC Young Athlete of the day on Tuesday Jan 12th
Leo d'Entremont will be featured on Wednesday Jan 13th and
Lauren Lyons will be featured on Friday Jan 15th

SHAYLEIGH AND SHARLIE ATTEND NATIONAL PERFORMANCE CLINIC

Shayleigh and Sharlie attend Robert O’Toole
National Performance Centre Atlantic December Skate Workshop
At Sectionals Shayleigh and Sharlie applied to attend the National Performance Workshop.
To apply the skater had to be under 14 years old, consistently landing single axel jumps or higher and be competing in the Pre-Juvenile to Novice Category in the 2015-16 season.
Robert O’Toole is a Level 5 Coach with over 35 years of experience.
Shayleigh and Sharlie were both successful in being accepted to the Group Workshop which was held on Monday Dec 28th and the private lesson sessions with Robert O’Toole held on Dec 29th at Cole Harbour Place.
A great opportunity!
