Yarmouth Skating Club held a Test Day on October 17th from 3:30pm to 8pm

A huge thank you to our Coaches Megan, Heidi, Angela and Jessica who got all the skaters prepared to take their tests! And a huge thank you to all who made this test day possible, Yarmouth Co Minor Hockey and PEB Sharks High School Hockey for giving of their ice time and re-arranging their schedules so that we were able to have enough ice time for the judge to evaluate all these tests! And to Donna Pothier for being the go between for these arrangements!!To the Judge Cheryl Smith for travelling to us and evaluating for hours! We really do appreciate you volunteering you day! To Geoff and Kevin for all their help at the arena from excellent floods, crowd control to media room help! You guys are the best! And to Micayla Grear for giving hours of her Saturday to announce and play music for us. You kept us on track and on time!!
Lastly congratulations to Kylie Landry who achieved the Skate Canada Triple Gold Test Level at this Test Day!She had passed her Gold Freeskate Part 1 Elements test in December 2014 and her Gold Skating Skills test in June 2015. These 2 tests along with the ones she passed on October 17th have earned her the Triple Gold!!

LIZ MANLEY CLINIC IN TRURO ON OCT 24TH

1988 Olympic Silver medalist Liz Manley held a clinic in Truro on Oct 24th for Skaters which included 90 minutes on ice with Liz on jumps, spins and field moves. Then a flexibility for Figure Skaters Yoga session. and finishing with an eating smart and fitness for figure skaters session.
What an excellent opportunity Allison had!
IVIVVA SKATE BEYOND THE BOARDS CLINIC FOR FEMALE SKATERS AGES 8-14

Skate Beyond the Boards Seminar was painted purple thanks to the generous support of IVIVVA. The Clinic was held at the Lebrun Arena in Bedford. All skaters received a free purple Ivivva jacket!
Skaters worked on their performance, musicality, flexibility and nutrition, all very important parts of skating.

NO SKATING ON THANKSGIVING

Please remember that we are not running any program on Thankgiving Monday so everyone can stay home and enjoy some time with their families
All Winter Session programming will begin on Tuesday Oct 13th.
WINTER PROGRAM REGISTRATION

The in person registrations for our Winter Programming is now complete. However we have extended the online registration capability to Sunday Oct 11th at midnight.
There is no skating on Monday Oct 12th (Thanksgiving Day) Our Winter Programming will start on Tuesday Oct 13th
