Programs begin the weeks of July 9th
 
CanSkate
CanSkate is the Learn-to-Skate program for beginners of ages 4 and over.It not only teaches beginners fundamental movements and basic skills but also introduces skaters to the spirit and fun of skating.This program emphasizes continuous movement and is taught in group lesson format.
* This program will only go ahead if we have enough skaters
 
StarSkate
(STAR=Skills,Test,Achievement and Recognition)
Skills introduced in the CanSkate stages are advanced and refined in the areas of ice dance,skating skills,freeskate and interpretive skating.Unique to Canada, this program teaches figures skating skills in private and/or group lesson format in Junior,Intermediate or Senior Programs.
 
 
Guest skating policy:
Members and Non-Members $20 per hour

 

Junior
Passed CanSkate Stage 4 or higher by a Skate Canada certified Coach
 
Intermediate
Passed a Skate Canada test. May choose either Junior or Senior times upon recommendation of the Coach.
 
Senior
At coaches discretion

FEES
  • If you have NOT registered in YSC Fall 2011,Winter 2011 -2012 or Spring 2012 there is a $33 fee added to your registration. This is your Skate Canada insurance fee which is required to participate in any Skate Canada program
  • Canskate and Junior coaching and ice fees are included in registration costs
  • STARSkaters stroking and off ice conditioning classes are included in the registration costs. Private or group lessons are billed to the skater’s parent and must be paid directly to the coach within 2 weeks of receiving the bill

PLEASE NOTE: If any skater is interested in additional ice time please inquire at the time of registration. There are several options that may be suitable to your individual needs.
 
 
CanSkaters are evaluated on skills every session and earn badges when they meet all their Stage level requirements.

Registration Information
 
Registration dates Wednesday May 16th and                  Thursday May 17 thfrom 5-7pm at the Mariner’s Centre.

Refund Policy
There will be no refunds without a medical certificate verifying illness or injury. There will also be a $50.00 administration fee if a skater withdraws after acceptance to YSC.
 
NSF cheques will be charged an additional $20 fee.
YSC reserves the right to cancel or change any skating session due to lack of registration.
·        Please note: All fees are non-refundable.
